Personal Information

Dr. Muhammad Haroon Muzaffar is serving as Project Coordinator in an Australian funded project to enhance the small ruminant production and to increase the profitability of farming families in Sindh and Punjab. He completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2002 and Master of Science M.Sc. (Hons) degree in Animal Nutrition in 2005 from UVAS, Lahore. His M.Sc. research was on simplification of urea treatment method to improve the nutritive value of cereal straw.

Haroon has over 16 years’ experience of working in Government and private sector, mostly dealing with the large and small ruminants. He started his career from Nestle Milkpak Ltd as Agri Services Provider and then joined Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development L&DD as Veterinary Officer and served the department for nine years. He joined the Lahore Division Cattle Market Management Company and served as Manager in Animal Registration and Identification Segment. He also served the private sector by joining the Ghazi Brothers Feed Tech department as Area Sales Manager in Lahore region.

His current organisation ACIAR (Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research) is not new for him as he had served this organisation before as an extension worker in two villages of district Okara from 2011-2015 when he was veterinary officer. He has a unique and diverse experience of Government and private sector which seems to be rare in veterinary field.
